The City of Cincinnati is focused on protecting residents through a variety of problem-solving initiatives. One that is near and dear to my heart is supporting tenants in understanding their right to live in safe, clean, and supportive conditions regardless of their income level, identity, or personal history.
As part of this work, the City has partnered with the County government to better coordinate our services. To kick off this renewed partnership, the City Manager's Office hosted a workshop to understand a tenant's journey to eviction and potential interventions the government can put in place to prevent evictions from happening.

Another piece of this critical work is the Cincinnati Tenants' Guide. This effort, led by Councilmember Meeka Owens, is aimed at communicating to all renters in the city about their rights under Federal, State and local law. We've partnered with several local organizations to ensure 1) we are providing accurate and timely information, 2) renters can connect with services easily, and 3) housing providers agree to provide this document as part of their leasing packages.
This document is still in draft form and will soon be tested with tenants in the community.
